Sister in Christ
by Debbie on

Hi Pastor Irmler,

We received your church information on our doorstep today and I have enjoyed looking through your website.  I have a couple of questions:

1. Do you believe that the Holy Spirit gifts are for today?

2. What place do women have at your church?

3. What are your view on Christian Counseling?

4. Would people be able to wear jeans to your services?

Thank you for you time and I look forward to your response.

Blessings, Debbie

Daughter of the King~

Welcome!

I've lived in Simi Valley since 1964.  Planned to leave a few years ago for my retirement home but got turned back around to Simi Valley.  "Man makes plans - God directs our steps!"

There are around 120K people living in Simi Valley. Wish I could remember the number who attend church.  Very small percentage!  There will not be enough church buildings for the people when the Holy Spirit blows through this Valley in the way I've heard in prayer!

There are many people praying for "The Church in Simi Valley."  For there are many members but only one head, Jesus Christ! Pastor Irmler, I'm sure you have been invited to pray with the Pastors of Simi Valley who meet each Wednesday at noon.  Please join in with what God is doing.

There is a shifting.  For one, several churches have changed their name. Watch. Stand fast in the Lord. Be brave.  Be Strong. Let all that you do be done with Love.

Blessings,

Mary Elaine

Welcome!

My husband and I were so excited yesterday to read the literature left on our front porch regarding Crown Point Baptist Church.  We have been Christians for many years and since moving to Simi Valley nine years ago, we have been affiliated with a couple of churches having visited all in the area that align themselves scripturally to what we believe.

For the past 5+ years, we have been attending a large church here in Simi and have found many, many positive aspects of being associated with this group of believers.  The church has a Christ-centered focus and ministers not only within the community, but globally, as well.  It is casual dress (sometimes just plain sloppy) and the music, while at times truly is contemplative and reverent, is for the most part just plain loud with drum rhythms that keep most folks rocking to and fro.

We have longed for a return to the reverential attitudes that we grew up with in church. And while one should be very careful about judging someone based on their outward appearance, if we come to God's house in shorts and sandals or a bathing suit with a beach cover-up so that we can immediately hit the beach after morning worship, are we giving God our best?  If we were to have dinner with the President or the Queen of England, would we not come dressed in our best?  The lackadaisical attitude with dress, music and demeanor that has permeated our churches, particularly here in So. Calif., in my opinion, breeds irreverence to a Holy God.

So, welcome to Simi Valley. We so look forward to worshiping with you and experiencing a return to a traditional, reverential church service.

Welcome to Simi

Welcome to Simi Valley. Just out of curiosity, considering Simi has an abundance of Churches, what came to your attention that caused you to think about planting Crown Point here?
